Stupid odd numbers. I was odd man out (and newb) so I didn't get to do clinch work with a partner, but did some on the bag. Started with rear body kick to bag into knee. Managed to do the perfect body kick, and by perfect I mean exactly what not to do. I hit the bag low with my ankle so the tendon/ligament hit and is now swelling. Not terrible but it hurt. Also got blisters on my toes, I think from actually staying on my toes which is good. Rest of the night was good.

Got used to working my way into the clinch and throwing side knees also known as "closing the door" and straight knees in the clinch. At one point I was throwing straight knees and my trainer said "good, great, great!" which made me feel pretty good about my technique. Finished working body punches 1,2 and 2,3 and finally 1,2,1,2. Boxing felt really good too.

Best news of the night: came home and saw a sticker outside the building door meaning someone has a package, not me, fuck you. Open mailbox and only one slip of paper that says I have a package from Thailand. YESSS! Thai shorts tomorrow. Woot!

Also, look at my last videos and tell me what I'm doing wrong on my lifts ya jerks.

Deadlifts look a lot better. Still need to keep the chest up a bit higher which will keep the slight rounding out of your lower back.

Squats look good. As you get more flexible, you'll start getting lower, as long as you keep going as low as possible and not just going as low as used to be possible.
Make sense?
Good. Now put some weight on the bar when you squat. It doesn't even look like you're trying!

Prick.

No, I mean a convex arch. You may call it rounding.

You say tomayto, I say tomahto.

It could be the angle, but it looks like you're not sitting back enough when you squat. Looks better though.

Deads looks like you're still hinging your back too much. Also better from last video.

Edit: Yeah, on your deads your back is still too rounded, probably why you're hinging. Also, you lower yourself a little before you lift. That's bad. You want to get your arms taught and then go from there. Do you really wanna find out what happens when you slingshot your arms trying to lift 400 pounds? Can you say torn muscles?

Let me see if I can describe that better. What you're doing is bending down a bit with your elbows right before you lift. What you want to do is keep your arms straight, before and during the lift.

Hinging is a term I made up. Think of a door swinging. That's hinging. Good deadlifts get lead with the head. Think more like a bowstring going from pulled to released, only slower.

Basically you're going for the shortest distance. When you hinge you're adding rotation to the lift from the lower back. When you lead with the head more you are going pretty much straight up.

I've attached a ghetto image to illustrate this. The second one is right. Actually, looking at my ghetto image shows me why you keep stumbling after you get the weight up as well.

Yes, but you weren't supposed to know about it until after you fell asleep.
