open mat was great, as a couple blue belts who'd been away for a while made their return. it was good to roll with each of them again, as they're both pretty strong dudes with completely contrasting styles.

the free roll was followed by an MMA class focusing on clinch-work and fighting for underhooks. loads of fun. I really enjoy the wrestling classes.

back to lifting tomorrow.

Bench press - 125x5, 135x5, 145x5, 155x5, 165x5
Bent over row - 95x5, 105x5, 115x5, 125x5, 135x5
Squat - 135x5, 165x5, 185x5, 205x5, 225x5

I need to order a copy of Starting Strength... not really sure if my form is proper. I'd wager it's not.

I ordered Starting Strength about a month ago and it's changed my lifting so much. I haven't done his novice program yet but the form stuff in there is top notch. I can't believe how much my bench press form has improved.

my overhead press actually went down since last week. it's pretty shaky. same with my bench. I really need to start strengthening my left shoulder. time for some physio, perhaps.

did some circuit training with pull-ups, push ups, and bw squats before no-gi class tonight. it was just me and a new guy, so it was like a semi-private lesson. nice touch.

Magic 60 for time tomorrow.

Magic 60 at lunch today. 17:20. totally kicked my ass. looking forward to trying it again next week... need to shave off some time.

open mat was good. MMA class was very conditioning-oriented, which kicked my ass again. loved it, though.

lifts tomorrow.
