Alright, basically I'm fortunate enough to be apart of a pro team under a famous trainer, and I'm lucky enough to call many other successful and well known fighters my training partners. I'm going to start logging from here until December, pretty much so I can start taking in and processing more of the knowledge all my trainers and partners have to share. Also, it's time to man up. In December I'm going to Thailand for fifty days, and when I get back in '09, it's time to go pro. So this is pretty much my last hurrah at just having the luxury of only being a student, and I need to make the most of this time and my lucky situation. I'm not going to settle to not do anything with myself. I've always trained everyday, just now it's really going to take all my focus.
So yeah, I'm buckling down on my diet, keeping up on my supplements, and training everyday. My I work most nights, so my training schedule looks like this:
m - 12-2:30 training (all pro class has a two mile outside run warmup-warmup)
t - 12-2:30 training, 6-8 teaching/training at different gym
w - 12-2:30 training
th - 12-2:30 training, 6-8 teaching/training at different gym
f - 12-2:30 training (sometimes pure conditioning day)
s - 12-2 open training
sun - running.
oh, and things i need to remember:
- have the fights and then add in the martial arts. don't have the martial arts and then add in the fight. that's how you look pretty and get your ass beat.
- i'm big on concepts. i think fighting, both grappling and striking, is mostly about understanding concepts. however, i gosta remember that technique is also incredibly important. ie.. a slow ugly right may not land even after i make the sweetest of angles, but an amazing right may land when i have none.
Time to man up.

Going to Kaewsamrit. Don't really care to mention my team, some anonymity is a good thing; but if you go throw my post history I may of let some stuff out before. If so, just don't go blurtin it out for me.
Today:
ran, stretched, did about an hour of striking drills, then about a half hour of clinchwork technique, and then about a half hour of muay thai sparring with the last minute as clinch sparring. Finished up with some productive rolling.
Choice techniques of today to remember:
parts of the bump and hit series:
- symbols crashing from stuck in body lock.
- overhook side self face punch or shoulder punch to elbows
- forhead to neck arm to bicep control and punish
- back of shoulder pushed when their belly's out. wrestling take on a thai technique.
these are just a few, but are what i'm going to attempt to incorporate. from there, see if any -really- stick. weeding process.
concepts to remember:
completely trust my butterfly/russian butterfly/x-guard transitions, and be aggressive with them. especially for mma. it works for me.
keep my side knees pivotal in my clinch game.
work more leg trips into my clinch game, and -stay aware for them at all times.-
i'll stop myself there.

Had an easier day today. Rolled, then did about a total of 10 or so rounds of MMA.
No real new techniques today. Well, wait, here's some old stuff I need to remember
- Bicep punch to snap down when in thai mode.
concept notes, and to remember:
-trust proactive flying submissions.
-don't make reactive flying submissions priority. first defend and wear them down completely, if not then reactive flying submissions.
-when clinched facing cage, either take them down or break tie and make them pay. after strikes from breaking tie, optional re-clinch. don't be lazy.
Still gotta train again and teach later. Will edit my post then.
Alright, first hour grappling. Taught pretty much this series: , and a triangle from mount.
Didn't make much notice of anything when rolling. Actually,
- Do be afraid to play closed guard. High guard works for me.
Second hour was Muay Thai, pretty just whole hour sparring.
- Pretty much I just need to keep an underlying theme of developing my guard and my jab.

Really sore today and sporting a typical but still shitty bruised foot. Ran, grappled, drilled submission escapes from guard, little bit of thai clinchin', and then sparred some muay thai and fucked up my foot some more. rolled pretty shitty for soreness.
Techniques of today
- armbar, typical grab bicep/rear naked choke grip d. and a posture out backspin to mounted triangle kinda position.
- triangle, standard grab choking knee spin over head.
- kimura, standard posture up immediately, and push knee down and go for back
- omoplata, roll em onto your lap escape.
concepts, notes, and to remember:
- kept guard (thai) high. was working.
- lots of teeps to the face. it's working.
- bicep punch from clinch is staple.
to do and underlying emphasis:
- no different than other postings. nothing new. actually, must spend more time on bag after training. tech work. will do now, every practice.
edit: and just to remember
reactive flying subs:
- triangle from single.
- - kimura from a losing single. secondary.
---- scissor heel hook from initiated super losing single.
proactive flying subs:
- armbar from neutral thai collar tie
-- often turns into triangle mid-air
- triangle from overhook-to-wrist control 'karo' tie
- aggressive imanari mid-combo. practice this more.

didn't go to team training today. slept through it, felt horrible for it. but, it's sort of good to let my foot heel, but that's just me rationalizing.
just taught and rolled for an hour. taught takedowns from the over-under. taught, prety well if i may add,:
- inside leg trip
- knee tap
- drop seonage
rolled. not much to note other than i need to keep my aggressiveness with my guillotines.
