Welcome to the team that will win the deadlift competition. This log is for us to post workouts, share tips, check form, cheer each other on as we lift heavy weights, shoot the bull, and celebrate the awesomeness of our team. It's like a private version of the Pub.
You were the ones that I felt most had the drive to improve over this period, and I think we can kick some tail.
Now, on to business.
First order: Do we want another name for our team than just "Team Lambert", or does that work for y'all? Log name can be edited if we change it.
Second: Who wants a common av &/or sig? We can vote on that, too.
Third: Who's buyin' the beer when we win?
Fourth: Post PR, what weight you hope to hit by contest's end, and how ya plan to get there.
My starting PR is 455. I want to add 100 lbs to that. My plan is to do a lot of Zercher deadlifts and snatch grip deadlifts from a 2 plate deficit, with some heavy singles of regular deadlifts every other week or so. I will also be squatting and rowing regularly, and may do rack pulls, power cleans, and shrugs for assistance, as well.
So is this a log, or do we still use our own as well as this?
Also, I do cross country at High school and practice Muay Thai and BJJ in my off-time. I'd like to, once CC is over, work on heavy lifts, get a good base with squats, which I feel will provide a foundation for which I can build from.
I want to begin with a modified 20 rep squat program just to get started, deadlifting once or twice a week at first.
Before season started I was pyramid-ing up to a max set of 3 with 225, and now I doubt I'll be able to pull it.
Now in season I will deadlift once or twice a week, with moderate intensity. I cannot squat heavy yet because my legs just die and lose all their power afterward. I once fell down 6 bleachers because my legs gave out the day after squatting 155x5x5.
Now back to topic, after an initial period of bulking and training, I will start to incorporate conditioning into my routine, while lifting heavy and doing BJJ and MT.
WAR Team Lambert!
