training log for next fight
alright guys to keep myself motivated i have decided to start a training log for mma, and weights, body weight exercises, acounts of sparring, nutrition and supplement.
my last fight was my first amatuer fight, on nov 17 th against an 8-1 highly regarded amatuer fighter, i knew mismatch was on the menu but i decided to do the best i can, we had a good fight he got me with some good shots from above, and i got him with a left hook, guillotine which he slammed out of and then i tried for various submissions but he had some good GnP, i think after an omaplata attempt of mine which half worked he took mount, and i think i bucked out and got in his gaurd i was gassed by then but i still managed to take back from a kimura attempt he went too sideward into, i decided to try and go for the safest win, but i was not as good at finishing with rear naked choke as i always try the armbar from back, soon after that he escaped and took mount and got an armbar victory, but this was my first fight and i am 17 while he is 24 and this was his last amatuer fight.
if you're still with me well done! i think the acount was unnecesary, but i thought id let you know anyways
info
height: 5'8-5'9
weight: 63kg im pretty big for my weight though and look more like 70
training: since may in an mma camp, I won a grappling tourney before my first amatuer fight and beat a pro fighter there in my weightclass aswell.
standup style: i use head movement for defense and like to use uppercuts and hook, overhand rights aswell, my kicks are what im best at with a good high round house switch kick and axe kick, i also have good knees.
ground style: i work the gaurd alot and most of the time manage to get an armbar or triangle everytime i roll atleast get in position, i would say on ground i am very succesfull, but need to increase my top game and start including ground and pound in my game, and would like to work out techniques for gnp from the bottom
GOALS:
overall im going to wrok on my core strength and overall functional strength and explosiveness, as for bodybuilding goals i would like to get fuller legs, more cut, more cut abdomen and a bigger upper chest .
i also want to work on my pushkicks/teeps to perfection and also my lead hook and overhand rights, i think my uppecuts are what is best in my arsenal atm
on the ground i would like to start implementing more upper body submissions like the brabo choke, side choke and leg locks, especially kneebar.
supplements
at the momment i am taking dymatize megashake and gaba, i will soon order e-bomb 2, and incarnate and leviathan stack, i think these supplements together will be just as good as sterones with no sides.
training log starts on monday

Hey man, I see kilograms - where you from? Europe?
Thats cool that youre fighting, respect for stepping in there. I think you should really work on the basics, alot of MMA is whoever makes the first mistake loses. You should focus on drilling all the basic submissions and escapes so that its automatic during the heat of battle.
As for strength, if youre going to be fighting and training alot of technique and Cardio - i recommend staying away from BB style workouts or even PL style workouts they will sap too much energy and you wont be able to train properly. I noticed you wrote you have BB goals, Id try and stay away from that type of lifting if you want to be a fighter.
I would focus on strengthening your core and being able to generate lots of power from your hips, this will greatly improve your punching power and your ability to control your opponent when youre in the clinch. Work on your grip and your forearms, get a good powerful crushing grip and you can control your opponents arms much easier on the ground. Get lots of explosive power in your legs, if you do squats use a lighter weight and do the rep as fast as you can, exploding on the way up. Do lots of high jumping, distance jumping. Unilateral leg work. Youre only as strong as your weakest link.
Work on strength endurance too, you need to be able to use your strength for the whole fight. Barbell complexes are good for this.

yes im from england. im not a big fan of pounds as ive always seen kg on my weighing machines but i think it works out to approx 135 pounds.
thanks for your post, i concur with alot youre saying but when it comes to stuff like weights i dont want to jump into it really, with my broken knowledge of it, i would much more prefer to keep it simple but i know its nto going to happen
i have decided for cardio i am going to ride my bike everywhere. and sprint three times every morning after waking up, plus doing burp 3 x 30 burpees a night, that should cover cardio
i also want to increase strength in calves, forearms kneck and lowerback i think these are the weakest or most ignored links, this is sounding pretty complicated to me already though, becuase the part that irks me is how can i concentrate on that while also building muscle in other parts AND mma training?
anyways today, i did 3 x10 pull up close hands elbows facing outwards
3x 10 facing inwards 3x 10 clap push ups
3x 30 knees meet elbowson floor

sunday, I did alot of stability ball exercises mostly with 30x 3
monday: went training today, felt good my cardios feeling alright, my balance and mobility feels a lot better with stabilty ball work, my kicks are looking awesome my hands are okay but still not where i want them to be, do lots of different drill a couple of coordination drills, at the end we did some standing grappling which i did pretty well against but my takedowns didnt quite work against bigger guys, it was small session today only two other guys both lhws but i definetly hald my own and my increase in strength was commented on, next we did some grappling by this point i was feeling knackedered, i improved my top game dramatically, and left feeling content, i rode there on the bike and back
tuesday, today
i rode to the trainstation then went to school and went straight to training, we started with some cardio stuff, then moved onto boxing, my head movement was pretty good but i only seemed to move back not in and forward like before, also i found my eyes closing up when i got in too close, i still needed to get used to the sparring, also I was mainly using the lead hand, it felt weird throwing the rear hand and then i got too close closed my eyes ans kins of got stopped but didnt get cuaght using my head movement, still closing my eyes a bit, next we moved onto kickboxing with sparring for some reason my feet were going numb, it was cold in there apparently, i had to put them on the radiator before i joined back in, it was cramping bad, but i drank some water and stretched it out, i did well at the guys i fought werent very experienced so i pulled my kicks and punches, but i still got my combos together and my kicks were really fluid, i just need to work on the hands, we then moved on to grappling i dominated the heavyweight of the group who had been going for 6 months, i took back regularly and even took him down, i got a few submissions going but he was stubborn and had amazing grip and wrist control, even though he held my gloves which irritated me. i finally tapped him out with a rear naked choke.
i then grappled with the pro fighter of the group, i took him down with a pretty slick takedown into sidemount, with facebar, into mount and then i popped the armbar on he resisted the armbar so i tried turning it into a triangle, he escaped, and then tried working from standing and i was on my back, i defended well until i span out for a kneebar and ended up with my gaurd being passed he took sidemount and proceed to attempt a keylock i defended well for a good 30secs, but my calves and soles were cramping badly still i defend and he took mount and applied the armbar i span out and then he applied it again, i was pleased with my performance as this guy used to own me, but it has been half a year since i went last and had been training at another club, also id put on 4 kgs of muscle, my leg was cramping too bad to continue and class was finishing up, it took a long time to get home, and i rode the bike from the station.
im feeling good about training, gym tommorow
