Sorry that I haven't checked out your log in awhile, and I hope that everything is going well (from what I'm reading things are looking up). I hope that you gat a fight within the next month so that you can get a feel for what it's like to be "in the ring for real", with an opponent who is looking to hurt you. However, given the people that you are sparring with, I think that you're probably going to destroy the poor sucker that gets in the ring with you! Best of luck and keep working hard in the new year.

Sat 12/29: Gonna slowly get back into the swing of things with some conditioning and light work this weekend. Watched ESPN P4P series, with clips of old school fighters like Henry Armstrong, Willie Pep, Ray Robinson, and Duran.
1.75 m run.

No Gym Time, reopens Jan 2

Conditioning:
100 pushups.
Medicine ball exercises. Practicing punching form with jab throw, cross throw, then alternating for 10 min. Helps to correct my stance, and I'm finally starting to get the foot-pivot thing right.
20 t-ups.
20 power-overs. Save the worst for last.

And that brought the day to a close. I really lost some strength over the holiday, and I'm hauling a-- to finish the workout. It's good to be back.

Sun 12/30: Watched Cotto vs Malignaggi again, to see how power can nullify speed, which I may well have to do against most of my opponents, at least in early career. Cotto is being groomed to destroy Mayweather.
1.25 m run.

Conditioning:
100 medicine ball sit-ups.
40 resistance leg lifts.

4 rounds touch-and-run shadowboxing, which isn't light sparring, but more like shadowboxing at someone. Just working on speed and defense. I think I'm a lot more relaxed and in control than I've felt before. When I get back to the gym, I'm gonna surprise Mike, and sparring partners like Edgar and Lori with my increased stamina and comfortability in the ring. More and more I get closer to getting a hold of my composure in the ring, and my eyes are getting quicker, I can see more punches coming and I can find more openings, or create them if I must. Can't wait to work more, and find out just how much I like myself in the ring. Firefox out.
