Tue 12/4: Watched James Toney vs Iran Barkley, that Barkley is one tough mofo, but no match for the better boxer in Tony not to mention that Barkley suffered from some bad eye injuries early on that pretty much sealed his fate against the already more skillful Tony.

3m run.

Gym time:
1 round stretch.
1 round ring jacks
2 rounds shadow boxing.
2 rounds small heavybag. Just tring to work on maintaining a rhythm, moving my head, chasing punches, and catching my breath while bouncing and throwing double jabs. All aimed at keeping me from losing my stamina in the ring, which has been one of my greatest liabilities lately.
3 rounds big heavybag. The bottom of this one came up to my knees. Surprisingly, I was faster on the heavier bag, I attest that to the fact that the heavier bag is too heavy for me to push it with my punches, which I tend to do without thinking on the smaller bag. So I dispense with the heavy handed punching, and go for speed and pop. Better work out on this bag more often.
3 rounds speedbag. I think my trouble with transitioning has something to do with how I'm standing and dispersing my weight. Again, it seems footwork is one of my biggest difficulties.
2 rounds skip rope. I feel good at the end of the workout.

Conditioning:
2 sets ab machine pyramid.
40 impact twist ups, pyramid style. All sets of ten, 2 twists 1st set, 4 twists 2nd set, 6 twists 3rd set, and 8 twists last set. Some wonderful and invigorating torture.
20 ab rollouts.
4 min stairmaster to cool down.

I was too worn out from my errands after working out to run in the evening, and I think it cost me a pound. I was down to 154 after soaking yesterday, but this morning I was back up to 155. I need to run at least a little every night, to avoid that weight gain that tends to come towards the end of the day. I had soup for dinner, but even the calorie count was relatively low, I think I better switch from clam chowder to clear soup. Cutting weight is crazy. :O Firefox out.

Wed 11/5: Watched Mayweather/Hatton Part III this morn. Not too much exciting building up to this fight, it's big but I think it's just another paycheck for these guys and each one could fight better opponents. Still, money talks, alot...

3m run at the park.

Gym time:
1 round stretching.
1 round ring jacks.
2 rounds shadowboxing.
Met a few of Jesse Reid's fighters, one in particular named David, a guy my size who weighs about 123, so he's tall for his weight. We might do a little work next week.
5 rounds heavybag. It was hard keeping my stamina up, I'm probably starting to feel the effects of carb depletion.
3 rounds speedbag. Still can't transtition well, and fatigue doesn't help either.
2 rounds skip rope. Makin Mayweather look like, well, good.

Conditioning:
Push up circuit, pyramid style, 15, 12, 10.
2x10 dips.
2x10 lat pulldowns, front and back.
And I was thoroughly killed. Dropped down to 154, went back up to 155 by the end of the day, despite a 2 m run around the park and soaking. >

Thu 12/6: Watched Larry Holmes vs Tex Cobb this morn. Tex is a dirty looking hard as stone impossible to kill hillbilly extraordinaire. Larry beat him stupid, but didn't knock him down or out through all 15 rounds.

15 rounds takes a bit of a while. Due to time constraints, ran 3 full laps around park, a distance of about 1.5 m.

Gym time:
1 round stretching.
1 round ring jacks. I wore trashbags to gym. Time to really lose weight. I hurt already.
2 rounds shadowboxing. For the 2nd one Liu and I try Jesse's style of shadowboxing, when 2 guys shadowbox each other.
3 rounds heavybag. My god 3 layers of clothing and a trashbag really makes a world of difference. A painful world. But my stamina is better than most days, and I feel more relaxed than usual.
2 rounds bodysnatcher. A test of sheer will at this point.
3 rounds speedbag. Mike shows up halfway through the set and tells me the fight is on for sure. Good rhythm, fix my stance and make it easier to transition, and I finish strong.

2 rounds skip rope.

No conditioning this morn. Instead I do 10 min on the Stairmaster, and neary puke. It's all about cutting weight at this point. This morn I was back at 155, and later at the gym I was 158, which I know can't be right. I can't be gaining weight while at the gym. I think I need a second, third, and fourth opinion before we settle this. All I know is, I've got roughly 10 lbs to lose in 9 days. How much of that can be water weight? I'm not sure, and I haven't started a round of diuretics yet, so I'm working on losing as much fat as I can. Gonna do 4 laps at the park tonight, soak, and attempt to do some abwork before I faint from exhaustion. I'll report back tomorrow to see if I've willed 3 or 4 pounds off. Firefox out.

Be careful, man, after starving yourself for a few days, water-cutting anything over 2-3 pounds is seriously difficult and draining.

Is the lack of sparring because of the weight cutting?
