So it's me and Stoney going for the bronze. This sucks.

As far as I'm concerned, we're all winners in this comp!

Thanks. For whatever reason, as soon as I benched 250 and was free to abandon the C.C. DeVille av, the first thing that popped into my head was "get a Dead Kennedys logo."

Which is odd, considering that the first avatar you went with was a Black Flag logo.

Couldn't find a DKs logo initially. Mentioned it in the pub, Dan Slobodin promptly delivered three. I'll probably switch back to 'Flag when I hit green belt.
Get in there tomorrow and kick ass.

Ummm. Paging Old Man, paging Old Man. Houston, we have a problem.
Shit, I dunno. What do the rest of you geezers think?
I'm expecting to work out Sunday, I s'pose I can try for 255, er, 254.

Eh. Not a real problem. A 20 kg oly-bar is 44.1 lbs: I'm willing to either assume that the clips/clamps/whatever used to keep the plates in place make up the difference, or just ignore it entirely. This isn't a game of ounces we've been playing here, and unless your gyms are a far cry beyond my local YMCA indeed, they haven't been precision checking their weight plates, either.
A bar with 205 added on to it is 250 as far as I'm concerned.

Okay, cool.
I did use spring collars on the bar when I hit 250. Most of the equipment at the big weight room on campus is York stuff that looks to date from the 80s or earlier, so yeah, I doubt anybody's been checking the plates.
Interesting point -- according to one of my coworkers, who's a fitness enthusiast, iron bars and plates can become heavier over time, due to rusting, ie. oxidation. Not sure if that's true, but it's an interesting thought.
