ronnin-I understand, but I also want to look better, because I feel if you look better, you perform better. I will try to incorporate more of the excersizes you listed.

vector X-thanks for the support and advice. I am trying to start off comfortably, but increase my goals each time. I also want to improve a little every time i go to the gym

You will feel and look better brutha. You are gonna burn the fat off and build some muscle man. As you start the 5x5 or whatever...you shall see progression in your lifting and strength, fat loss and muscle gain.

Thanks for the inspiration man. Although it is only my first day, I feel it is going to be a success. Especially by posting pictures, because i definatly don't want to look the same in all of my pictures haha

yeah for sure.

plus, think of it this way - you can sit there and do curls with 30 or 40 lbs or something, or you can do pullups with your whole bodyweight which will recruit your arms. In the end your arms will be getting a better workout and getting way stronger bc they will be moving more weight.

Or doing triceps vs. doing bench.

Your arms WILL grow faster and bigger and stronger if you stick to a 2 or 3 day split, trust me.

All of us telling you this used to workout the way you are, one day for each muscle group. It sucks and you will never see proper results my friend. I got to the point where I was curling 70 lbs lol but my bench completely plateaued for like two months around 275.

Also, the bigger the muscle groups you work the more growth hormone you will release into your body meaning more muscle growth and more fat loss.

Oh yeah -

If you are serious, get a little notebook and keep a log. I never saw gains like I did when I was keeping a log. Just knowing that I had done something before, and seeing the proof on the paper, made it so much easier to push myself the next time.

If you're a professional bodybuilder, looking to fine-tune the shape of your arms then do isolation. If you're a regular human, looking to gain functional strength and size, build arm strength with deadlifts, pull-ups, bench press, OHP, clean/jerk, snatch, etc, etc. I cringe when I think of all the time and effort I wasted in the gym doing a 5-day split, working one bodypart per day.
Same. I just started the Rippetoe SS program and have gained 3.8 pounds in 8 days. Would've taken me like a month+ to do that the way I used to lift/eat.
