The only other articles I've seen said the same thing, just in a crappier translation that made it seem there were other fighters involved. I think Lorenzo went just for CC.
As to why the big deal, maybe they feel that he can still be enough of a draw to be worth it; look at the reaction he got in Germany. Obviously, they want him to fight more often now, so he won't only be on European cards. I think if he's really in the right mind, we might see the CC of old show up a few times. Whether it'll be enough to get the belt is another discussion.
