Got the my old computer set up and working great, all updates and all programs installed. Just in time for them to call and say the new one is ready. I may invest some money to have a second home PC setup.

I have about 4 pages of my log done, but i still have to copy and paste it over. It is more of an artistic statement than a numbers log.

If all goes right, I may have 4, soon, although one will be just a recording rig... However, I'm thinking about changing my mind and giving the one tower that would be a rec rig to my folks and trying to piece out the one they're using now and using my laptop to record...

Without having alot of shit loaded my old comp is still pretty quick, i was thinking of a slight upgrade though. It's 2.0 ghz, 533 FSB, 1G 333mhz DDR Ram, 160GB HD, with 1 DVD/RW drive

I had the saem cold almost over it now. Vitamin c plus lots of zinc helped.

Get another gig of ram. That'll help, it won't have to access the page file as much. A faster processor really won't help much.

Use a tower. Laptops are made for portable PCing, not continuous use. In the end, you'll be happier. Save the wear on your laptop.

Well, the laptop has been on almost continuously since I got it. lol. Might be some of the reason I've had the motherboard replaced at least once a year under warranty (win) since I got it. The only difference is as a rec rig it would get used in the "studio" corner of the basement as well as the rest of the house and wherever else I am.
Although... I might be doing some different HD swapping and use the tower that's currently upstairs for the rec rig...
