I think one of my teachers in high school said the Ethiopians would attack the Italians with sling shots and gunmen on horses. The Italians would then proceed to blow to pieces with tank shells and machine guns.

Montgomery wasn't the C.O of forces in Africa until Rommell was at El Alamein. Churchill then chopped the Commander and gave Montgomery the position - then he took advantage of a salient and threw the Axis forces back.

Montgomery gets to much fucking flack.
