I think, not to get into the whole 360 Vs ps3 debate, that that is why the ps3 may last longer from a computer spec pov, because the thing is so beyond the current 'normal' frame work that it will take longer for programmer to fully utilise the hardware (the other way around to normal).

Ya, I gotta agree with ya on that. Plus now you can use them to surf and play online without too much hassle. Even the Wii can have a keyboard hooked up to it.

The problem here is that, save for proprietary titles feeding off the teet of the mother company, it is not good business to make games exclusive to one console or the other. As long as they build games for PS3, they are going to have to dumb them down to the level of the 360 in order to recoup rising devleopment costs.

The convergence between consoles and pcs is getting closer and closer is the only thing.

Atleast the programmers will know the specs for the consoles though, so they won't try and outdo it, but instead get the best performance they can with a 'limited' hardware they will have.

Yeh, Megaman 2 - thats a mans game. Games nowadays are too easy.

Megaman was hard as hell, my GF has the Turtles arcade game for NES, i loved that game when i was a kid, almost as good as turtles in time for SNES

That is where the difference between programmer and hardware specialists and salesman and 'whats good for the company' comes in.

Its easier to get something out if its' dumbed down' and get the revenue back in then spend twice as long on a really good game that might shift a extra 10%, in which time you could have got another one out and got an extra 100% (costs would most likely be similar).
