I've always enjoyed the Godfather movies, and I have an old VCR tape of the Godfather Saga- the edition thats edited in chronological order, with extra scenes. It was recorded in the late 80s, and still looks ok. But I've seen on Ebay copies on 'Godfather- 1901-1985' and it's all 3 movies in chron order, and I have seen it on VHS, DVD, and Laserdisc- and I just happen to have a pristine, ancient laserdisc player. the LD edition was $80.00- hard to justify with all the dental work ahead- but damn if that wouldn't look amazing. I use that old LD player for audio CDs too- just store-bought, it won't recognize burnt CDs or DVDs- but the response, especially the bass, is superior, imho, than any player I have. It weighs about 30 pounds too. Tight, crisp, highs and lows, and one favorite CD, and my first one I bought over 20 years ago, is Dark Side of the Moon. This player brings out the best in the disc. So I'm trying to wrangle, some kind of way, the 80 for the LD version of The Godfather Saga.

I try to steer clear of all that old technology. Most things worthwhile come out on the new technology. There's probably a few vintage shows that they don't reformat but for the most part I've been able to find any show I want on DVD or something akin to it.

Speaking of the godfather I've never actually gotten around to watching any of them.
