There's definitely a vacuum the Japanese promotions could fill. A lot of the older guys are cycling out, and with younger dudes like Jacare and Hoger, teh Dream and Sangakuosi o saku ... could take off.

Its almost the same game, but its nowhere near as big there as it is here. I can only imagine the atmosphere at a Monday Night Football game in Dallas, or Denver, or Green Bay (yeah, I know, moved to Sun.)
When a Pride started in front of 50k in the Tokyo dome or Saitama Super arena, its bigger somehow. UFC still has an air of Toughman about it. In my very humble opinion.

Right on Hunto, that and the big SHOW of Pride.
AND Pride almost kinda poking fun at itself a little. Poking fun at the whole idea of two grown men getting in a ring to beat the living shit out of one another. There was an element of humor and irony to the whole thing.
UFC is so fucking serious. Like the UFC people think it's all real (life and death shit), and the PRIDE people know it's a show. Maybe because of the Japanese history. The Samurai fight to the death thing. Hiroshima? Real violence and tragedy.
It's like: two guys fighting in a ring? Ok. It's not life and death or anything. It's entertainment.
Our history in America isn't deep enough to make it FUN, like it should be...we really think it's real war...
END DIATRIBE.
