Cool Humble Pie story:

After the Yardbirds disbanded, Jimmy Page set out to form the new Yardbirds which would later be Led Zeppelin. His first choice for a lead singer was Stever Marriot (frontman for Humble Pie), so he traveled to a music fest to talk to Steve.

However, upon seeing Jimmy Page backstage, Humble Pie's manager pulled a gun on Jimmy and told him that if he even thought of talking to Steve Marriot, he would pop a cap in his ass.

Page left the venue and auditioned Robert Plant soon after.

I often get flack for saying this, but Zeppelin is one of the most overrated bands in history. Good band, yes, but way overrated.

I went through an 'I hate Zeppelin' phase. But recently I've been rediscovering some bootleg live stuff (San Diego, 77) and it's really good, bluesy rock.

Yeh theres some tasty riffs on there, whose the guitar player for Rush? I know of the drummer Neil Peart but dont know any of the other players.
