I saw Mars Volta in concert once. Holy cluster fuck, batman. Sounded like everyone was soloing at the same time. I don't know what drug you have to be on to enjoy that shit, but I wasn't on it.

I like some of that fucked up stuff, like Captain Beefheart and some Frank Zappa stuff. I think some guys try and get a bit too creative though and just make garbage music. Never really liked Mars Volta, I tried getting into them because my fave guitar player is like buddies with Omar Rodriguez so I thought maybe theyre good but I just need to give them more of a chance but its mostly crap.

I never really saw the big hype behind them either TBH. Never saw them live though...
