You crawl out of your skin, then when you get back into training you feel like a fucking pansy because the stuff you used to do for a warm up leaves you fucked and you know its going to take many humbling sessions to get back to where you were.
Repeat after each fight and it gets old quick

Two monks were once traveling together down a muddy road.
A heavy rain was falling. Coming around the bend,
they met a lovely girl in a silk kimono and sash,
unable to cross the intersection.
"Come on, girl," said the first monk. Lifting her
in his arms, he carried her over the mud.
The second monk did not speak again until that night
when they reached a lodging temple. Then he no longer
could restrain himself. "We monks don't go near females,"
he said. "It is dangerous. Why did you do that?"
"I left the girl there," the first monk said.
"Are you still carrying her?"

Magic: Very few places in the US allow elbows even in sanctioned, pro Muay Thai bouts. I think California and Nevada are the only states.

American bastardisation of karate in the 70's for sport. Karate didn't have elbows or thigh kicks (yes I know, kyokoshin, but I think the original KB is based off another style that was more popular at the time in the US. Kyokoshin is too 'violent' for main stream and didn't catch on as much, well, back then) and knees, and when they tried to incorporate the karate into a sport they wanted maximum exposure.
Muay thai is thousands of years old. It was originally a field combat art (the older styles still have sword work in them). If you got disarmed during battle a non armed combat system evolved. Many stories of great thai warriors who were well versed in unarmed combat. Theres one fable about a prince or some kind of heritage being captured in burma, fighting and koing their best 10 fighters and then the king of burma was going to execute him because he beat so many on the trot, but the crowd protested because they were so in awe of his skill, so he was set free to return to thailand. He later became king.

lmao
Skinny guys with oversized puffs on their hands and feet punching at, and kicking at, each other, flailing really. The big gloves with the white circles on them. You could hide Big Bertha behind those gloves, and her Cadillac.
