wrist: i was being americana'd about a month ago, but the person didn't have it on right. Imagine Hunt's americana on Fedor. In a spazzy attempt, they ended up jamming my wrist into the mat to try and finish it.

knee: thursday night in a scramble, i was trying to pull my leg out of a single by pushing their head away and spinning out. this would have been fine if i had managed to keep my foot free in the air, but the person pulled my foot back down and firmly planted it on the mat just as i was turning out.

Knee should be fine in a week or so, i'm doing some terminal knee extensions that Donut posted in a thread, plus lots of ice and compression. It just feels a bit loose at the moment, which i can work on addressing through those exercises.

You should def. look into some wrist wraps for lifting. I fucked up my wrist seriously like 18 months ago from boxing and it still feels fucked up to this day. I would realyl focus on some levering and some good forearm/wrist exercises man, b/c wrists can be tricky.

Recommendations?

It'd be awesome if you could point me to a source that carried a good brand of wrist wraps as well as a neck harness and bands. That way i could save on some shipping!

I picked up my stuff on amazon and mine are pretty much like this:
Amazon.com: Wrist Wraps BLACK MAMBA Professional Grade 12": Sports & Outdoors

They don't really help as far as numbers but they really help for wrist discomfort. I use them for front squats, OH presses, and bench presses. Cheers. I would also really look into wrist levering though man, it can be really helpful.

Thanks, i'll definitely look into that all.

I think my main wrist/forearm work willb e compromised of levering with a DB loaded on one end, wrist roller work, and plate pinching. That should really help both for strength and injury prevention.

Ya that will definitely work. I just know from experience that wrist injuries are tough, and I think Smashy had some wrist injuries as well so you might want to check out his log for some info on that. Also, ALWAYS wear your fuckin wraps when you're doing any boxing/bag work.

Yeah i know a couple guys at my clubs that have had wrist injuries tha tjust don't seem to go away.

I've went to physio, and it's just a bunch of grip work- Wrist rollers, wrist curls in 3 directions, gripper work. So i figure if i keep up with that it should get better fast. The most important part is consistency. I'll have to remind myself to keep doing the exercises even though it feels better.

I'll take a peak at smashius' log as well.

I must say I know lots of people that wear wraps (duh I guess), but other then fighting I have never worn them. I'm starting to think I might need them for my knuckles though because banging some of the bags I use tends to annoy them.

I don't think I have ever buckled my wrist banging a bag. The only wrist quirk I have is my left one and that was from taking a low kick on the pads by someone who is 19st. If I had left it it probably would have been fine, but me being me I went out and did heavy deads the next day. That wrist was unusable for about 2 months and can be a pussy at times but 99.9% its fine.

I USED to do (not for a while I must admit) wall press ups on my knuckles. They aren't easy I must say, but I could get 5-10 nose to ground on my knuckles.
I should really start doing them again.

edit- maybe I hit like a pussy
