I was born in Mississippi and spent a good amount of my youth in Alabama. I travel back to visit relatives once a year for a big blue grass festival, one that my relatives organize and run.

I think I tried to reject a lot of southern values along the way though. Some of my relatives are pretty creepy.

I think 65% dixie was pretty accurate for me.

Yep only thing I can think of that I say that "may" be considered southern is roly poly. There is no other name for it.

I like how one of the comments said,

I don't have a fucking globe handy....but I'm pretty sure Texas is in the South.

Agreed. Texas and "The South" (Alabama, Georgia, Mississippi, et al) are different animals.

I’m not Dixie. I was born in Wisconsin, but raised in Indiana. My Dad is from Iowa and my Mom is from Michigan; I am as mid-western a kid as you can find. I did live in Nashville, TN and Houston, Texas for about 8 years. Every Southern (“the south" or Texas) I have meet told me I am a Yankee.
