Well really I jumped the boat a little. For me to recommend a macintosh I'd have to first ask what you're planning on using it for? I assume you know why you want a macintosh and have a very specific reason in mind, otherwise save yourself some money and go with an HP or build it yourself.
If you're choosing a computer and it's a macintosh, then you can't really mess around with the internals. Want to add another hard drive? Not possible. Want to upgrade your memory? Send it back to Macintosh. I'm sure these things are *possible*, but more than likely you will void some warranty if you attempt it. If you attempt it and fail, that means you're up shit creek.
So if you're not going to be adding anything to your PC or taking anything out of it, what's the point in having a big clunky tower that takes up space on your desk? What's the reason to NOT go with a laptop design? Cost comes to mind, but we've already established that cost is not an issue since you are buying Macintosh in the first place. Spend the money on a mobile computer and you don't have to leave it sitting on your desk all day long. Going on an airplane trip? You can't take out your iMac and plug it in on the ride, but you could with a PowerBook. Not to mention you could have the convenience of having your computer with you basically anywhere you go.
Or you can buy an iMac and have a piece of abstract art that sits on your desk all day.

You now if Carnal posted a log it would end up with more discussion than loggin' anyways. It would oft be mistaken for the pub.

I figured it out. If you choose the color it uses the name, but if you click the icon (it automatically uses the last color you used) it uses the hex for some reason.

Good points Saith. I've never really looked into laptops as much, mainly cause i don't ever see me taking it with me when i leave the house.
Mainly just use the computer for the regular school stuff, internet, music, v ideos, etc.
I was talking to the dude about the memory, and he said you can expand it yourself to 4gb of ram, which seemed reasonable.
I was also thinking probably using it as a TV as well for my room, not too sure though.

And i'm not a fan of laptops because of the whole wireless internet hassle, battery life, and easier to accidentally pwn a laptop than it is your desktop.

I don't see myself taking a laptop around with me very often either, but I'm sure if I had one there would be occasions where I did.
For the applications you are intending to use it for, a PC would function perfectly fine. I'm thinking the beautiful display is what's drawing your toward a Mac, but these days you can find third party displays that are almost as good.
There's also the issue of the learning curve. I'm assuming you're already familiar with Windows, would you be willing to deal with the quirks of another operating system?
