I just got two pairs of these:

http://www.newbalancetampa.com/shop/...p?model=M767ST

I really like them. They come in various widths so I got a pair that really fit my feet and I liked them so much I got a second pair so I can switch off every day.

I also like the shoelaces. They have bumps or something so that the laces don't slip. I usually have to tie my shoes so tight that it hurts to keep my shoes on tight so my orthotics don't slip around, but I don't have to do that with these laces. I can leave them a little looser and the fit is more even all the way around,

I was at a sports store the other week and they had some adidas booth there with a plate that would show your weight placement across your foot when you run so you knew if you supulnated or pronated (sp?). Turns out i have a very neutral weight distribution.

Kinda wonder how much that machine costs when i could have determined the same thing from looking at an old pair of shoes....

Wow new balances are $80? You can get a decent pair of oly lifting shoes for that price.

Yeah but you can do well without oly shoes in the gym but good running shoes are mandatory if you do any road work at all. My normal lifting shoes would give me shin splints in 400m or less.

I heart my oly shoes. There's something deeply pleasing about such a specialized piece of apparel.

Fuck no, the heel is solid wood with no insole, I think my knees would explode from the impact.
