The problem is this. These guys are neighbourhood "regulars." At the end of the day, LPO's get in their car and drive home. I, on the other hand, walk home or take the bus. My personality just makes me assume the worst. Knowutimsaying?

That and I have a tonne of work to do as it is, so I don't want security making it a habit that they can come up to my office and use me as back up.

When I was working as a simple sales clerk at GNC about a year ago, I stepped in and acted as security on one memorable night. I was there with my manager, and I noticed a guy stuff several rather pricey supps into his jacket.

I walked up to the guy and asked him to put it back. He pushed me and bolted.

I yelled at the manager "One moment, I'll be back" and took off after the crook.

The guy made it to the other end of the mall and was trying to get through a service door that is locked 24/7. You have to work in the mall and therefore have a key to get through it.

He was putting his shoulder into the door when I put my shoulder into his face. I broke the door and knocked him out cold. Security caught up and took the guy to the hospital.

I casually walked back to my store holding everything the crook had stolen. That was my first week working at GNC
