Hello pub.

I fucking hat ewaiting tables. Today, I dropped the check off with the bartender, with the cash and my tip, as we do not get to cash our check out ourselves. An hour later, said table is still open in the system. I ask the bartender about it, he says he hasn't seen it. Mind you, he's pushing 75, getting a little batty, and there's another server book with $16 of my tip money sitting on the floor of the bar area, where he just happened to "misplace" it. But still, he's sure he didn't cash it out. *grumbles*

*takes a swig of sweet delicious beer*

Then, I go to vacuum for my closing duties. But lo and behold, some asswipe has not only managed to fill the collection bin to the very tip top, clogging everything, but he's vacuumed up straws, plastic wrappers with crackers still in them, whatever hit the floor. Now I need to take a fucking screwdriver to the thing tomorrow, to fix the mess left by the parade of assholes before me.

*grumbles more*

*takes another, bigger swig of sweet, never-judgmental beer*

Also, did I mention I closed tonight, got out real late, and have to open tomorrow, getting there real early? I fucking hate restaurants.

I did put in my two weeks at the beginning of the shift, however. I'll be starting a new gig in customer service/inside sales in 2.5 weeks, and I have a good chance of lateralling into their legal department after 6 months or so, and an admission to the bar. I cannot wait to be done with serving. Life seems good now.
