Don't take it in an entirely negative way, its just that the entire concept of "training" children religiously irks me.

I grew up in a catholic community, and I have no regrets about it, but thats not who I am anymore. I've developed to the point where I don't understand how so many people can believe in something so fantastic, and mythical, as many religions are. But who knows, maybe thats just the scientist in me talking. Personally, I've been thinking a lot about how I'm going to raise my kids. Ideally, I would want to go the Dan Dennett route, expose them to all the world's religions, all their facts and histories, and then let them choose whether or not they want religion. Although that would be ideal, due to social constraints, I'm not sure how practical it would actually be. I just don't want to raise my children to believe in something that I don't, it just seems too hypocritical.

Dane Cook tries too hard IMO. He can be funny at times, but he's not one of those guys who I can see over and over and still laugh. I probably sw Dave Chappelle's first stand-up 50 times. And I dont think im exagerating

I don't think that would be wrong.

For the most part, people are whatever religion their parents were or whoever took care of them. They believe in Christianity because they were raised on it. But if their parents had been Muslim they'd be Muslims. The same for any other religion. So their faith is pretty meaningless. They haven't researched other religions and follow blindly what they were told.

That doesnt fit all religious people. Ive met some very intelligent people who were religious, and could argue logically why they believed what they did. These guys did ther homework and chose religion because it made sense for them. Now, I dont agree wth their logic, but it was clear that so people arent just brain-washed from their parents. And Im as anti-religion as they come...

I didn't say it was a set rule. Just that the majority of people who are "religious" fit into that description. Especially young people. Can they honestly say they've researched and given other religions thought? Probably not. As long as mommy and daddy told me so it's true.

Chappelles first standup is hilarious. He's one funny dude. Lampanelle (sp?) is also hilarious.
