Risk becomes more and more calculated over time.
My doctor was telling me that she could ok me to join the military up to the age of 47. I've actually been thinking about it a lot lately. So weird.
Of course I'll never do it, but it got me thinking, that's for sure...
It's kinda' like..so when do we give up then...when do we officially become old? I'm not there yet.

me either. I think of that line in Apocalypse Now, where they talk about the Colonel (Brando): 'Entered airborne at 38, went through jump school, everything. Tough sonofabitch.'

I'll never go into the Army (I told em to call me if they really needed me) but a teeny part of me thinks somethimes, 'Am I still up to it? Basic, AIT, the works?'

My favorite time of the night.
The witching hour.

Glide through the sharp thickness of the night.
It's a solo journey for certain.
There's no demons. There's no spirits.
The hum of the heater, drone of the glow box infonews...a spatter of jake-brakes as the big truck chugs down the grade.
The night glide through the witches hour.
Spiritless. Free of wraiths and the smudges of shadow entities.
Children sleep breaths nearby, and a dog collar shake.

My bones ache like the trail of a slug.

It's a glide though. Through the sleep time of the rest of the world.
