ARNG = Army National Guard.
SF = Army Special Forces.
So, I was saying I may join the ARNG, immediately go through the Special Forces pipeline, and be in a Army National Guard Special Forces unit. That used to be an option, I dont know if it still is or not.

What's so great about having no responsibility? How about having no money, having to sit through classes where stupid people kept asking ignorant questions, having people talking through the entire lesson so the teacher can't actually teach anything, and generally being imprisoned for 6 hours every day only to find that there isn't anything worth doing afterward?

Hmm... I have about 4 friends who are currently in NG. Why would you want to go NG and not active?

I wanted to do that ever since I was 6, but things change. I realized I eventually would want to start a family, have a wife, and be closer to my friends/family here. Divorce rate in the SEAL Teams is 70%-90%. They are just too active to have a steady home life.
I still wanna do something in that field, right now the goal is a big city SWAT team...and from there, I could go through the FBI's tactical recruitment program and be on a 3 year track to FBI HRT selection (Premier/Tier 1 Law enforcment CT unit). Also, ARNG has some good options...most notably SF.

I don't want to put my foot in my mouth so i'll ask if you have a job, morgage, house, cars, pets, kids(no kids for me), etc to take care of? Do i want to go back to HS? no, but having no responsibility would be nice as hell some days Besides at that age you really don't need that much money.
Also 6 hours of lessons, with lunch in between, breaks, and passing periods to dick around w/ your friends is A LOT better than 9 hours stuck at work, not surrounded by friends or attractive females, EVERY day?

Because, the main goal is to be a police officer.
The reason I wanna go the SF route would be because A) I wanna be surrounded by other highly motivated, smart people, B) They do get deployed to places like A'stan, etc, and C) They have a kick ass job and I'd learn skills that would be applicable to SWAT, and vice versa.
