Yeah, thats probably true. I (gulp) got some of my figures from one of Michael Moore's documentaries, where he states (and shows facts/figures) that Canadians have a close amount of guns as we do per person, yet has alot lower crime rate.
I want a handgun, because I know the bad guy will have a handgun. If we took all of the guns in the US away from citizens, then the bad guys will still have them and we won't. Thats my stance on the whole "Let's ban pistols and firearms" thing that some Democrats here in the states have been hinting at.

I think the vote is still out on what the consequences of banning guns would be, the empirical evidence is mixed. Its really just an ideological question.

Not really our culture as a whole, but more or less pockets and certain groups.
Alot of teenagers wanna be 'gansta' now, and alot of them want a 'piece'. Honestly, most of these kids are more dangerous packing guns and knives, because they have no training or knowledge on how to use them. Do they really wanna pull out a knife on someone, when that knife is more likely to be used against them instead of the other guy?

No Bama. In Canada, you have to take a gun course, pass a safety test, get abackground check, fill out all the paper work, wait for approval and THEN you can get a gun.

Thats true, but they'll never ban guns here in the states. No way. They could and may again ban certain weapons and accessories though. Thats one of the reasons Im loading up on high cap magazines for my AK. I know the fuckers might ban em soon, so I want to have plenty before they do.
