I'll shoot shottys all day w/ out ear protection. Not pistols though. Wouldn't even take one shot with a .44 mag w/out ear protection. Not worth it.
Rifles w/ muzzle breaks are loud as shit too.

Well I haven't shot my 12 gauge in awhile, but Im usually fine shooting pistols without ear protection. I still have very good hearing. Maybe I should make it a rule to always wear ear protection. __________________

Oh, it's absolutely dumb, I didn't say it wasn't. I just knowingly do dumb things.
I was mostly shooting 3" 12 gauge shells, but also .30-06, 7.62X39, and once in a while .357 and 9mm pistol rounds.

I shoot my SKS sometimes without muffs and never use protection with rimfire/rimfire mag rifles, but pistols are motherfucking loud. If I have to shoot someone in self defense, I'm going to kill them and then go back for my muffs and pump my 2 back up mags into them for making me fuck my ears. 39 rounds of .40 ftw.

Our AR-15 is pretty fucking quite. But my Dad's .50 DE is extremely loud. If he ever uses that in a self-defense situation, I think we are all gonna be deaf.
What kind of .40 you got? Im getting a G23 for christmas. __________________
