I have to disagree with you there MR GNP.
First, it's not number of days SOBER, it's the number of days without a beer. There's a big difference. That came out wrong. You know what I mean.
Two, the whole AA philosophy is more or less: "You're only one beer away from a binge" or something like that. Maybe for a hardcore problem drinker (alcoholic) that would be true.
I guess I look at alcohol much the same way I look at my diet in general. In fact, it's part of my diet, so to speak. It's part of a my overall diet, which, mind you, is unhealthy all the way around.
In an attempt to change my nutritional habits, beer popped up as one of the vices of mine (along with tubs of ice cream, buffalo wings, bacon, and pickle surprises).
Making an attempt to moderate the intake of those things is a reasonable proposition for some people.
Ice cream: 5 days
Buffalo wings: 2 days
Bacon: 2 months
Pickle Surprise: right now
Beer: 13 days
