Congrats, Barut! Newborns are so dang small, aren't they? First one?
True story -- My son was born around 6 p.m., the nurses took him away for various tests, pressure washing, etc. and brought him back around 8. We held him, fed him, rocked him, etc., and soon hoped he would fall asleep in the crib the nurses had set up in the room.
He didn't.
Around midnight we gave up and let the nurses take him back to the nursery.
They brought him back bright and early the next morning. I was still in my work clothes, wearing shoes, even, sprawled on a sofa bed. I needed a lot more sleep than I'd gotten.
The nurses walk in, bring the baby and one of them tells us in a chirpy way that he looks perfectly healthy and well formed, except that his penis is slightly smaller than normal.
I'm thinking "the kid weighs eight pounds, how can you even tell? Did somebody measure?"
I'm also thinking "great, of all the traits for him to pick up from me..."
I raise myself halfway off the bed and growl "I want you to go back out in the hall, walk back in here and tell me you (I point at the nurse) are from the Guinness Book of World Records and you (I point at another nurse) are from the Department of Enormous Penises, and you need to talk to me about my son."
They didn't seem to get it.
