Some of them I listen to screaming and can't stand it. A second later the same guy will actually do some singing that sounds pretty good. At which point I think "Why doesn't he sing like that the whole time???"
I like the band Flyleaf and the lead female vocalist does some screaming. But not for very long or over the top.

The screaming is better.
It sucks when some bands like that try acoustic, it just sounds awful, and some don't have a strong enough voice to do it.

The problem I hear with a lotta current screamy vocalists (and death-****l gurglers) is that they think using an extreme vocal tone excuses them from having to come up with an interesting vocal melody.
So they end up doing fuck-all with what's generally the most important part of the song.
I call these people dumbasses.
