I read about it years ago, so IDK exactly the reasons why. But supposedly whatever tubes are in your junk DO NOT like being restricted by water pressure.

IIRC correctly, shower didn't cause any problems. Because you're not under pressure from the water. But I could be wrong, and the original article could have been wrong, so if you're that interested in it you might want to invest some time in researching it.
