You hear the same thing about guys abandoning the m-16 during nam to use their side arm. "stopping power" is a myth unless you have a .600 nitro express are are ten feet away from a dude with a shotty loaded with 3" shells of .00 or .000 buck.

Stopping power is not a myth.
But M16s don't have a lot of it due to the use of very small (.223) bullets.
They'd also drop them in favor of the enemy's AKs. (7.62x39). This led to problems due to the distinct sound of the AK getting friendly shot at. __________________

It's a myth dude. I'm not saying some guns don't have more "punch" than others, but you'd need something outside current military rounds, or be at extremely close range for it to just drop people or knock them back like some folks claim. __________________

I fucking hate AKs. Mostly because I couldn't hit *insert bad aim cliche here*. I'm respectable with a pistol, but fucking AKs are shit for aim. __________________
