Unfortunately, it's really fucking boring, if you want to read something interesting from LaVey buy The Devils Notebook or Satan Speaks. Way more entertaining and they impart more information.

Whatever you do, don't send the CoS any fucking money!

I dabbled back in the day, so I read some stuff online, but I don't know which books it was from. I'll keep those other two in mind though. Not going to anyway, but why do you say not to send them money?

@juan: Sometimes I wonder if LaVey just put together a church out of mockery of Christianity more so than to acutally develop a religion. But then I'm more of a fan of the philosophy he talks about than any "religion" he is talking about so I may be bias.

To me it's just really hilarious to go out buy some books that are written by possibly the greatest charlatan of the past century, then send the fuckers orginization money. I mean, he just spanned several books telling you how to fleece people, and you're gonna send the cat money?! Holy shit!!!

Plus it denotes official membership, and earns you the "privelege" of participating in Grotto activity. Which means you get to hang out with nerds in spooky robs with dry ice for your money. I'd rather spend it on drugs. If I wanted to hang out with nerds in robes, I never woulda left the basement of the pizza hut I played roleplaying games at. Ya know?

Haha. I got that same feeling, Carnal. Like I said, I like his philosophy and ideas, but I wouldn't want to be a member. I always hated that he had that "black arts" shit. What is the difference between that and gods and miracles? Nothing IMO. Off to Muay Thai. peace.
