I see what you mean graedy after watching it a thousand times.....i think it's my flexibility...

Yes I am the strongest guy in the academy as far as I know.

I'll give sumos a try...I forget what my best was but i'd venture to say mid 500s...

How does the SFPD handle field training for new officers.

Here in the GVRD the recruits complete 3 blocks of training. Block 1 is at the academy, Block 2 is in the field with a field officer working actual patrol, Block 3 is back at the academy for advanced training before graduation.

In MOST cases after graduation, the new officer goes back to the squad they served with during block 2, unless the Sgt. in charge really hated them.

step 1: 8 mo academy
step 2: 3 phases of FTO: 5,5,6 weeks

First 5 weeks you're basically following the fto around trying to absorb everything and doing small % of the work...like 10-25...searching, handcuffing, running people/vehicles, doing traffic stops, etc...trying to learn the districts...writing reports for basic calls for service..

Second 5 is 50/50 work distribution..going to more complex calls...

Second 6 is you're doing almost all of the work. With last 2 weeks the fto is only there to observe and you must be like a solo officer...he'll only jump in if there's a fight or some severe officer safety issue...

going to be pretty gruelling 4 months...i hope i'll make it through.....and in one piece...haha..

-400mg caffeine+b-complex
-went to the bigger 24 hour gym as the one near my house closes early...

Squats:
bw(220)-20 reps
135-5 reps
225-5 reps
315-3 reps
365-1 rep
405-1+0 rep...it was very ugly...damn near lost it...GMed it while taking a step forward...very disappointing
+belt:
455-0+1 rep...not even close...didnt even make it halfway...lost it forward then had the bar go over my head...
-everything felt so awkward and heavy

side press with short barbell:
60-6 per side
110-0+2 per side...FUCK...

grippers:
BBSE-3 forced closes and negs with each hand
RB300N-2+1 right & 0+1 left(missed it by about 1/16'), 3+0 +time hold for few sec right, 0+1 left(yet again within 1/8' or so)

Adductor machine:
205(stack): 12,15+0

-played 2 hours of 3o3 bball...I sucked horribly....did it mostly for a bit of cardio..

I have slightly tweaked my lower back (I was starting back on the zerchers and my mind said starting low was a good idea, but my body decided the volume and the low weight were still a bad combination). For an attack dose of cissus, would you say 3 doses of 2g a day would be enough or would you advise more?

ian that sounds good....i would also give hyperextensions through full ROM a try. High reps worked really well for me....u can try machine or the freestanding version and use bands or light plate..

DT:
-had gun retention test today...thankfully i passed and dont have to retest....it was inholster, with suspect with hand on the gun as you have it pointed at them, and finally with suspect hollding the gun against our back or to our chest(and then same thing with shotgun)....

-100 JJ
-160 Mountain Climbers
-25 squat thrusts
-25 hindu squats
-150 push ups

in our uniforms, including vests...good times...

-today we were back to our academy uniform vs our street uniforms because of a few fuck ups in our class...tomorrow we will be in our business suits due to further fuck ups....:/

Thanks Devil

At the moment it's hurting to touch past my knees but it will get better so at that point I will try some different assistance work to get my strength back to somewhere where I can hammer it as of times gone by.
