As a cop, you want to be aggressive when you need to be - not angry. The guys that get angry when dealing with people, even resistive suspects, are going to be the ones with the excessive force lawsuits and FBI civil rights violations investigations. Stick with "controlled aggression."
Also, it's hard to be out of cadence if you're the one calling it...unless of course your body's not in the exercise position you're calling out (i.e., you're calling out "ONE" in the middle of a burpee repetition)?
My guess is that they're probably just jealous of your enormous size, power, and intimidating presence!

It makes some guys feel superior, especially those with "little man syndrome" to criticize others when they are in authoritative/dominant position that prevents the recipient from talking back...it happens all the time in the military.
