Had a little more CNS techniques...clavicle node, dorsal, tibial, achilles roll, occipital, and bracchial pinch....occipital was probably the worst....although this shit hits me pretty good as i dont have much body fat and every technique seems to work at least somewhat well on me...

practiced a little baton stuff before the cert on monday...pretty nervous about it but hopefully it goes well...

passed my FA.TS today...my sims were pretty good...got pelted with a rubber bullet in the thigh behind cover when the computer shot at me...need to improve my communication and remember to constantly identify who i am..meh...

I'm not sure what the technique is called but it's right under the nostrils.. my dad's Highway Patrol and he'll do it to me for fun... it sucks

-400mg caffeine

in the garage on flat concrete floor:

-100+50+50 jump rope turns to warm up
-100 squat thrusts(burpees minus jump) in 4:29 min
....did them with no pauses aside from maybe 1 sec gaps between reps amid some reps to catcha breath....huge improvement over the last time i tried them after a lifting workout(i think it was 7:55 min)....very happy with these...wasnt even that tired....i forced myself to count in such a way which seemed to make things easier...20+20+10+20+5+5+10+10....so it didnt seem like i did all 100 in a row...
-15 sec break then 100 jump ropes to cool down and 5-7 min walk in the backyard...

-5x(10 right and 10 left) rubber band punches with mini band doubled over a pole with band around the elbow crook...no breaks except to quickly change sides every 10...

-60 mountain climbers(cha.sing rab.bbits)+50 more after a min break or so....did both in 3:45 min...but could ahve done better...it was almost like a mental breakdown...breathing was ok but legs were giving out...still i think i could ahve hit 100 without a break...

-100 jump rope turns to cool down

8pm END

very productive workout...i am happy...should be all for this weekend...rest and recovery til monday.

these are basic 'non-force' options available to us...it's basically pressure points that are highly painful for brief periods of time that allow you to get past passive resistance or those who are drunk or noncooperative...by no means effective on everyone ...esp those on drugs or mentally unstable, etc....you can pretty much google the ones i mentioned i am pretty sure...

-had baton cert today. thought i did ok...i got the new dt instructor we have whos about 190lb for redman and who's on the smaller side of all of our instructors. he was my blue/red man...he called out his first punch and let me guess the others...he landed all 4 he threw...two right jabs, 1 left jab, and 1 left roundhouse/hook....one of the right jabs gave me a lump under left eye, the hook gave me a nosebleed...the hook or the 'roundhouse' looked very much like a jab only with somewhat more sideplacement...it was thrown from same distance and with no to little windup....i was able to avoid his secondary punches when he tried to double/triple up on me...and stepped back from his kick...lost baton once when it slipped out but got it back quickly without any issues...got a nice headache/concussion 6+ hours after the fact....passed this portion...

the FIST or the baton retention was with one of our regular instructors and he's about 210 at about 5'7 and strong. He was telling me how he squatted 210kg last week and is racing to 500....baton retention wasnt a problem but he tripped me down 5-7 times...including throwing me into the wall...got him a bit pissed off that i kept starting with enguard position near belly button instead of like hip area...didnt get very many strikes in....lost baton once when it slipped out but dove for it and got it back quickly...failed this portion and will have to redo...i am pretty frustrated and disappointed...no idea yet for exact reason why he failed me but one of the observers said my conditioning was poor...interesting part of that was that i am at the top of the class in terms of anaerobic conditioning...quite a few people with mediocre/poor conditioning passed....so go figure...

-i took 400 mg caffeine around 6 then 500mg tylenol+500mg aspirin+130 mg caffeine around 8:30...test was around 10.....
-surprised my conditioning was a problem considering i was spitting out all the verbal commands we had to plus a couple others that were pretty long ...then again i am basing this from instructor who observed will get exact tomorrow....probably going to be something as general as 'failure to follow directions' or 'insufficient striking'...whatever...

FIST scares me a lot because this is the portion that has the highest risk of injury potential.

Had two people badly hurt. One hurt his left knee the other hurt his right knee......one of them had almost like a knee dislocation then had it pop back in...so i suspect ligament damage...the other has a sprain of some form...one got through first part the other hurt knee in the first part...hope they both recover...

-woke up feeling a lot better. Got about 5 hours of sleep. The headache came back a bit during the day so it was a nice mix of fatigue and headache...took tylenol/aspirin and it went away for most of the day. Retest is probably going to be in 2-3 weeks...before final 'use of force' sim....one of the instructors who was on vacation during this cert will be back for retest...and I am pretty sure i am getting him...

-bicycle kicks, flutter kicks, bear crawls, spider walks...

-found out i failed fist part of baton cert during retention for not hitting the instructor fast enough...there was too much hesitation according to the instructor...so we he threw me or grabbed me...i was supposed to instantly jab or yawara strike him...shit on me i guess...i tried to create distance by stepping back, saying the verbal the commands then step in...he said retention wasnt issue, neither was striking power...just the reaction time..

-25 squat thrusts(academy burpees)
-bicycle kicks+jackknives(v-ups)+standing twists...a whole lot...

-practiced wrist lock takedowns as well as finger approaches into twist lock grip...
-was operating on 2 hours of sleep thanks to a 1000 word memo for our od forgetting to lock the classroom...meh...

-no DT today but we had optional practice for those who need to retest on baton cert after hours...i hit the bag and helped a couple classmates practice their strikes....we're having retest next week which sucks because I thought we had 2-3 weeks to prepare....it's probably going to be wed/thu so just a little over a week....meh...

on the bright side batman movie is out today...
