I thought about other departments but I dont want to move. I like living in SF and the pay and benefits are good enough here. I think working in State/Federal departments relocation is probable. I applied to just this department and got in. So I am very happy. Talking to others I almost felt like I made a mistake not applying to various other agencies.

Once you get experience under your belt you can always re-evaluate your options.

Federal? Fletc is a way to go..you might enjoy my old job if you ever feel like signing up.

thanks all. Fatty you crack me up. Yea the cost of living is indeed very high but even if I have to commute a bit I dont think it will be too huge of a deal. There's plenty of cities nearby(<10 min of driving) that have considerably cheaper cost of living.

most people who want to earn more and have relatively low cost of living go to oakland I believe however i heard it's lot more stressful there and the department doesnt look out for its own...

YG what kind of job is that?
