Not planning on it. What's it, like $80 per ticket?

It's amazing how expensive things get when people think it's hip.

Brief 2008 Arnold Review

Hmmm how can I sum up the Arnold experience?
rank body odor
fake tans
Axe body spray

On the plus side, I spent about 45 minutes talking with Lon Kilgore and some with Mark Rippetoe. Much was learned.

Jeff Monson showed up to the last men's session of weightlifting and I promptly introduced myself.

I watched Andy Rickert eat a piece of prime rib the size of his head, and half a sweet potato then wash it down with a BBQ chicken breast. Ridiculous. (This is aSPARTAme!)

What did you learn from Rip and Kilgore?

I derive my power from the gratuitous amounts of prime rib fat

Tues 3/4

Power Jerks
60/5
80/3 x 5 sets

Step Ups
20/10
40/10
60/10 x 4 sets

What I learned:
As long as you're eating clean--you will lose weight if you burn more than you consume. I.e. people lose weight initially on the (fill in the blank with Zone/Atkins/Paleo) because they're depleting glycogen stores. In the long term, weight loss continues because people are self-selecting fewer calories. Essentially, all these diets are working because at heart they're reduced calorie.
Bottom line? Burn more than you consume. Period.

What a lot of [Olympic] weightlifters need is a STRENGTH coach. All strength is a subset of absolute strength.
Bottom line? If you want to increase your C&J--squat and DL more.

Gene doping will probably happen by the Beijing Olympics. Rampant by London Olympics.

All these Chinese athletes keep testing at a T:E ratio of 5:1--just under the 6:1 limit. Must be all that soy
