Solitary Mountain Training Log

I thought I would finally start a training log!

I have been told I am fighting in March and am currently in the conditioning phase of my training, heavy lifting is limited to one session per week usually on friday as I rest weekends.

Stats
Height 185cm/6'1"
Weight 111kg/245lbs

Here is an overview of my weeks training plan, I try to keep to it as much as possible, but I will add in extra rest days if I need them. This program was designed with my specific strengths and weaknesses in mind, and it is similar to the conditioning preparation phase I used for my successful bodog debut in August.

This is a template, I will change things around at times and might add in a Litvinov sprint instead of the 400m intervals or a chain yoke run. But for the most part I try to stick to the template. For those interested I will outline what my week training involves.

Monday
Morning Session
Drift Drag 1.4km hill run dragging a 28kg tyre and wearing a 20kg vest for the first 500m.

Monday Afternoon
MMA Training

Tuesday
Tuesday Morning
400m Sprints
Tabata Sprints

Tuesday Afternoon
48kg Kettlebell Drills
MMA Training

Wednesday
Wednesday Morning
Rowing Drills
Core – Medball Core Drills.

Wednesday Afternoon
MMA Training

Thursday
Thursday Morning
Tyre Flip Drills
Sledge Hammer Drills
Stretching Session

Thursday Afternoon
Swimming Tabata Drills
MMA Training

Friday
Friday Morning
MMA Training

Friday Afternoon
Heavy Yoke
Complexes

Saturday and Sunday Rest

How cool is that?!

- What organisation will you fight in?

- If I remember correctlly you must have agined about 10kg over the last year.

Edit: Rowing question answered with second post. 1:21 is a really solid time. If you ever go for 1000m on the rower - anything under 3:00 mins is good. The olympic rower I know puts up times arround 2:50. While the worldrecord is 2:38 if I remember correctlly (but that is put up by a rowingmachine specalist who isn't a really good rower when it comes to the real thing).

I use the concept 2 rower
I either do 500m intervals
2.5km rows
4 minutes for distance
30 seconds for distance
20 seconds for ditance

That is what I mean when I say rowing drills.

I have one more fight on my two fight bodog contract. And I will be looking for a bigger three to five fight contract after that.

Awesomesauce.

Brad how do you do the swimming Tabatas? Do you sprint a lap, rest for 10 seconds, and repeat?
