3 Sep 2007 Training
Went and checked out the TAMU Judo club today and trained with the team. We got hazed
Extensive warmup
2- 8min rounds - 4min standing, 4min ground no rest
5 min non-stop drills
Pushups and situps - 20-15-10-5 (last 5 were super slow and v-ups)
It was a great session, and I look forward to training with them more.

Tabata Pullups (modified to jumping pullups to be able to work the whole time)
Tabata Pushups
Tabata Situps
Tabata Squats
That sucked. My conditioning is shit. The last 4 rounds of pushups I got all of an amazing 5, and they felt like max effort bench press.
Immediately following this, I went to mma and grappled for 2 hours. I'm tired.

Short on time today, so got a quick push workout in:
Bench Press:
135x2x10
155x10
185x5
205x5
225x1
245x1
255x1
265x1
Att 280x1 - Sticking point at mid-way. Needed slight nudge to complete. I'll get it next time.
Incline DB Press: 70 lbs x12,10,8,5 45 sec rest between sets
Pushups: x20
In and out in 30 min. Felt pretty good.

Today's workout:
Overhead Squat:
135x2x5
155x5
185x1
SOHP:
135x2x5
155x5
Push Press:
185x1
205xfail
Dips: BWx5x20
Kind of an unproductive workout, but oh well. Followed this with mma and sparred 3-4min rounds than worked some grappling techniques for most of the rest of the time. Finished with about 15 in of grappling.

I haven't really done much with them, so finding my balance is still difficult. The strength to do more is there, but it's a matter of getting the brain noise filtered out. I also can't do them too often, because they hammer my shoulders pretty hard and ake them feel like they're about to rip out of the socket the next day.
General Mattis is a badass. Gotta like a man that says soemthign liek that.
Fiasco is by Thomas Ricks right? How is it? I haven't read it, but Making the Corps was one of the deciding factors in my choosing to enlist in the Corps over the other branches.

Neck Machine Front and Rear:
80x5x10
One Arm DB Press:
60x3
70x3x3
75x3
5 Circuits - 24:08
95 lbs on barbell exercises
Standing Overhead Press x 9
Push Jerk x 9
Push Press x 9
Dips x 9
Pushups x 9
On cicuit 4, I couldn't get a single SOHP, so I doubled push jerks, and on circuit 5, I used 25 lb DBs for the SOHP part. Couldn't get anythign heavier up at that point. My arms are going to hurt tomorrow for sure.
I haven't been organizing my training very well lately. Just been going in and doing whatever I feel like, and lately it's been pressing. Need to get some more balance and get some pull workouts in.
