Felt kinda crappy today but I made out ok. I found out that the police academy I was hoping to get into may be pushed back as far as June.

A friend of mine wanted me to go to some mma classes with him but I haven't gone for fear of injuring myself before the impending academy. As long as its going to be 9 months I think I might as well start the mma classes if purely for the conditioning. I'll have to think on it some more.

I was feeling pretty tired today. I was planning on going for 275 today but my legs started cramping between the 4th and 5th set.

Oh well, there's always next week.

10/7 Cardio:

5 minute warmup

2 miles @ 12 minute pace.

6 minute cool down

Stretch

Today was the first day of my cardio program. I used the automated training coach from runnersworld.com. I'm going to be doing cardio every Tue/Thu/Sun. It sounds like a lot of fun!

I had a terrible workout today. I had no strength at all, especially in regards to my grip. My wife was really hungry when I came home from work so we had dinner about an hour before we went to the gym (steak and spinach). I think that my body was busy digesting food and that left me operating at a diminished capacity. I normally do working sets of 315 and today I could barely hold it.

10/11 Cardio:

Ran 1.3 miles in 10 minutes and 40 seconds. Had to quit bc the wife's lungs gave out on her.
Walked another 2 miles back to the car in about an hour.

10/12

Hiked 4 miles through rock scrambles and crevices.

Got a nice series of cuts over my left eye when I walked into a branch on a pine tree. Another three inches to the side and I could be an extra for the next Pirates of the Caribbean movie.

Felt pretty good today. I don't really feel like I'm making forward progress on the push exercises but at least I'm not getting weaker.

I need to find some kind of program to switch things up and cause my body to react.

Cardio is on the menu for tomorrow.
