Being slightly more serious than I previously was

I've decided to start a completely structureless training log. My workouts are generally extremely simple and bland. I also miss many of them. I'll start out with a few key things about myself, since I don't have a workout to post today.

Height - 5'8
Weight - 153 lbs
Age - 22

Lift - starting weight - current weight - From 1-20-08
Bench Press - 225 lbs - 240 lbs +15
Deadlift - 385 lbs - 425 lbs +40
Squat - 275 lbs - 315 lbs +40
Strict Overhead Press - 115 lbs - 155 lbs +40
BB Snatch - 95 lbs - 95 lbs +0 (done x10)
Clean and Press (PP) - 155 lbs - 185 lbs +30
Clean and Press (Strict) - 135 lbs - 155 lbs +20
Close CoC #2 in each hand

I've been lifting somewhat seriously since about July of 2007.

Currently I'm nursing something fucked in my left wrist, and a mild sprain in my right wrist. I've also got a problem with my left shoulder, which i've been making a lot of progress on. Shoulder dislocations have helped a lot.

2008 Goals:
3x BW Deadlift
2x BW Back Squat
Snatch 185lbs
Strict Press 185lbs
Bench Press 315lbs
Overhead Squat 225lbs
Much Greater Flexability

2008 Goals Met:
Reached 6-18-08 - 2x BW Back Squat

Edit: If a moderator sees this, could you please change the thread title to the title of the first post?

Yesterday I found myself in the gym to play basketball, so I took some time to do some minor rehab things for my shoulder. It was really simple and basically consisted of:

1-21-08
Bench Press 135 lbs x 10
Bench Press 135 lbs x 10
DB Press 120 x 10
DB Press 120 x 10
DB OHP 100 x 10

Then I played basketball for an hour or so. Today I was fooling around with a friend and did:

1-22-08
Deadlift 225 lbs x 10
Deadlift 225 lbs x 10
Deadlift 225 lbs x 6
Deadlift 225 lbs x 6
Back Squat 225 lbs x 5
Back Squat 135 lbs x 10
Bench Press 135 lbs x 10

I mainly chose 225 because that is what my friend does for doubles / triples and I didn't feel like swapping weights.

Friday I am going to deadlift again, my goal is 4 sets of 315lbs for 3 reps.. I'm also thinking of doing high rep DB presses every time I go to the gym (10-20 rep range) as my shoulder really seems to respond well to it.

Structureless eh?
I think you and static would get along well.

Whenever people think randomness means no structure, I kindly remind them of things like http://www.ms.uky.edu/~mai/java/stat/GaltonMachine.html

I've been extremely lazy to update this thing lately. My last workout was 2-5-08 and consisted of:

Deadlift challenge -47 reps at 155 in 5 minutes
Bench Press 135 x 10
Bench Press 135 x 10
Bodyweight Pullups x 10
Bodyweight Pullups x 6

After the deadlift challenge I was too spent to do anything other than rehab work. After the gym I played football for 2 hours cause it was really nice outside.

Then yesterday I went to go to the gym and wound up playing basketball for 3 hours instead of lifting. I'm going to make up for it by going to the gym on Sunday, which I've been thinking of adding as an additional workout day anyway (been a chump with only 2 gym days a week for the last 3-4 months on account of me not being able to do heavy shoulder work)

I went to the gym today:

2-8-08

SOHP 6x95 lbs
SOHP 1x115 lbs
SOHP 1x135 lbs failed
SOHP 1x135 lbs failed
Bench Press 10 x 135 lbs
Bench Press 10 x 135 lbs
Bench Press 10 x 135 lbs

After trying SOHP for the fisrt time and getting a max, I really didn't feel like working out much so I did some high rep stuff for rehab. Tuesday I'm deadlifting again, so that should be fun.

Whats multiplying? The high rep work is cause of a shoulder injury. Low weight and high rep is much less taxing on bad ligaments. I'll be back to nothing but heavy doubles and triples next month, hopefully.

That's good, since I was just gonna call you out on that

See, that would have been nice to put in the goals, you know, so we would know that you are all broken and stuff.

Nice job with 47 reps, that's a good set. I'm aiming for 50, but it looks pretty difficult...

This is actually from my intro post ;)

Quote:
A lot of my shoulder oriented workouts will be high rep types as they are more for rehabilitation, rather than strength building. So don't complain when you see my DB press workouts consisting of 20+ reps of two 40s (I'll be doing at least one per week, in all likelihood).
