Today was "try to make Liu puke" day for Mike...

No video clips today as my computer has the AIDS. I can still get on the Internet easy enough, but there's a virus that keeps shutting down Windows Explorer and Internet Explorer.

7:30am - 1.5mile run.

10:30am - Gym Time:

1 round ring-jacks.

3 rounds Shadowboxing. I was working on the check-hook for a minute and Mike looked past me then said "stop that." Jesse was eyeballin' it.

4 rounds Heavybag.

2 rounds double-end bag.

12 minutes mitt work. This was nearly non-stop. After the second 20 second break I couldn't catch my breath and felt like I had a sword in my side, but when Mike called me for the third interval I stepped up. I spent a lot of time getting batted in the face and body and berated by him. In between that he had me throwing this combination: 1-2-4-2-3-2-3-2-roll-3-1-1. I did everything I could to get it out, and we ended off with alternating 1-1 and 2-2's. I ALMOST horked. Almost. Mike told me just to do conditioning and call it a day. I told him fuck that, I wanted the speed bag.

2 rounds speed-bag. Someone tied a rope from the speed-bag to one of the rings, so in between rounds on the speed-bag I did a minute on the over/under rope.

Conditioning:

Push-up circuit.

30 pull-downs.

30 pull-downs behind the neck.

30 dips.

FRIED.

Gym Moments:

DeShaun Cohen is another guy we see a lot and he came into the store later on tonight to get some supplements. I was giving him shit because he was just kind of standing around while I was doing my conditioning. I said to him "that's a Hell of a workout you're putting in."

Sorry I haven't updated guys. Turns out it wasn't a virus at all but that my hard drive itself was failing and needed to be replaced. I should be back online tomorrow night with full reports.

Cars only irritate me because I don't know engines, never had anyone around to teach me. And there's 3 things I think every male on Earth who is worth a shit should know, meat, how to fight, and automobile engines.

Computers are just cars for nerds (I say that, but I'm pretty computer savvy myself, the tech said I did a good job of clearing shit up, but nothing I could do would have prevented a hard drive failure).

Hm, it frustrates me that I know so much about computers and yet very little of the internal function of a car. I'm hoping the next place I move to, I'll have a garage so I can start tinkering around.

It sucks when hard drives have mechanical failures. Sometimes I've had good luck with throwing it in the freezer overnight, gives me enough time to pull all my data off .

Problem was also that I don't have a DVD ROM drive to back my shit up that easily. I have an external hard drive with significant amount of space, but didn't have all my program setup files backed up onto it and whatnot. I needed a bigger drive anyway, so I'm not upset about it overall, just a hassle. And now I'll be motivated to get a DVD ROM, and have like umpteen periodical copies of my shit like any good nerd should.

Now that's before I just have two systems altogether, where I can run all my own repairs and whatnot. I know enough about software to have a system set up just as a cleaner for a possibly infected system, but once you get into "alright take apart your tower unit and disconnect..." I'm lost.

Thursday was the day my computer went to shit completely. After running in the morning I did everything I could to fix it including spend about 3 hours on the phone with a Tech buddy of mine. Ended up skipping training to take it into the shop.

Friday:

6:45am - Showed Diego the fight between Joel Casamayor and Jose Luis Castillo. Casa's style sucks, he's got that Amateur pit-pat and run technique. But unfortunately for Castillo Casa is also very durable. So just hitting him hard didn't give JLC the knockdown.

7:45am - 1.5mile run.

10:30am - Gym Time:

1 round ring-jacks.

2 rounds Shadowboxing, working on getting lower.

2 rounds body-snatcher, working on jabbing higher and bring the hook back cleaner after the left-hand.

4 rounds Heavybag.

2 rounds double-end bag.

2 rounds speed-bag with over/under rope between rounds.

2 rounds rope skip.

Conditioning:

Ab-machine circuit x 2.

40 twist-ups.

40 bar-twists.

30 front-raises.

Gym Moments:

Because of my computer hard drive going down and now my car is having some issue (I think minor, but I always plan for worse), I had to tell Mike that I'd not be able to pay for February's training on time. I said to him if he didn't want to train me for the month I understood. He said "Liu, how could you say such a ting to me? I got a heart. I dun train you I can't sleep at night."

So again, such is the absolute awesomeness of Mike McCallum.



Saturday:

Wind sprint suicides x 4.

Cornering sprints x 8.

20 minutes of letting Diego work being more deceptive with his right hand. He throws it as hard as anyone could need to throw a right-hand, but he squares up a lot and it's easy to see coming. We were working on hiding it with the left more, and twisting into it faster and more explosively. Then I let him work some posting with the left to set up the right. He's at the level of learning how to cheat efficiently.
