High rep push press is NFG for teaching speed. Your form will go to shit. Use 70% of your max and do sets of 3. If 70% is less than 135lbs, kill yourself.

Class dismissed.

Dude, high rep sets have their place in a push press routine, but not for teaching form/speed. It's an explosive movement. Keep the reps to 3 or less until you get the technique down.

I think that oh pressing is highly dependent on the level on natural athleticism of the lifter. I'm way better at OH pressing than anything else. I must have high calf insertion or something.

I remember a time where I considered 10 reps to be a low to moderate rep range. LOL!

Yeah, I'm pretty much the worst natural athlete there is. I was always picked last for dodgeball.

I totally agree that you are not going to learn alot of the technique from this. Doing the high reps as quick as you can help people learn to perform the drop and the drive quickly and act more like a spring that's about all. Once you have that part of the pushpress down pat the high reps are rather redundant, but for helping bring up the form and linking the leg drive together i find they help alot.
