I decided to go to the fitness center at my apartment complex today after school. It sucks.
Stationary bike for 35 minutes at 21 mph on the highest resistance setting. The bikes suck. The body weight entry only goes to 250. I felt like a fatass.
After the bike I did some stretching for about 20 minutes. I have a soccer match thursday night. I don't know what I'm going to do tomorrow. Right now I'm thinking about some sort of circuit with push-ups, burpees, sprints, and jumping jacks. Time will tell, The soccer is going to be 7 v 7 on a shortened field. I'm still very fast, but the wind doesn't last long, so the short field should be good.
I weighed 260.4 last night, so I lost about 5 lbs last week. It's a start.

100 burpees for time.

Training last night consisted of spending some time with a very hormonal wife and taking her out to eat.
We lost 2-1 tonight which wasn't bad because we'd never practiced together. I played well enough. Lots of sprinting. Good times.
We're going to the doc weekly now, so I'll have to lift at night tomorrow after the appointment. Going to the doctor for a pregnancy is retarded. The nurse makes her pee in a cup. Then teh wife gets asked a bunch of questions. Blood pressure check. Measuring of the stomach. Doppler thingy that lets me listen to the heartbeat (which I can do by putting my head to her stomach). Then we make another appointment to do it all again. It's fucking bullshit. She's not fucking sick; she's pregnant. Women have been getting pregnant and having babies without paying co-pays for thousands of years. Fucking third-party payer system. Socialist fucks.
Anybody else check out the Louisville game? Their D left a tiny bit to be desired.

Amen, brother.
We're already hearing shit about how some people (ahem, Hillary) want socialized medicine here in the States because it works SOOOOOO well in Canada and England.
I guess that's why people come here so often to have complicated procedures done and/or avoid several month/year waiting lists because their systems don't prioritize like they should.
That's right folks, let's give the government control over our HEALTH. Fuck, they already control our future finances (social security) and our future in general (education). And they've done such a great, efficient job at both of those things, right?
The level of apathy and ignorance in this nation is astounding. Public education FTW.

I can never decide if, after making my millions, I'm going to try to overthrow the sheep with force or go the compound route. I like the idea of being secluded, but unless I can neutralize the leaches they'll eventually come for me.
Finny, I've never looked at any of Ross's books. Is there any place where I can find it?

Well, if you make billions instead, you could back teachers' unions and re-educate the masses. Hell, it only took 40 or so years for them to change your average American from a knowledgeable, independent, resourceful person to a lazy, apathetic, ignorant fat ass who thinks the government's responsibility is to provide for their needs while punishing over-achievers with a graduated income tax system that is inevitably going to fail.
If I can afford it, my daughter will never step foot into a government school to be educated.
And my wife was a public school teacher. Go figure.
Btw, I think I'll quit littering your log with my propaganda....

I'll never back any union. Humans in large groups are dumb, superstitious, and lazy. The problems with the education system are:
1) No one is allowed to fail. If the least driven person in a group is forced to "succeed", the more capable students cannot receive instruction at their level. Rather than mandating that every grade have set goals and that moving on to the next grade requires mastery at a lower level, the system only mandates that no feelings are hurt.
2) Teachers are socialists. Those responsible for educating America's next generations of capitalists are not believers in the system themselves. We are taught that people should be provided what they "need" rather than earn it. Children learn that being exceptional is of no value. The government will provide.
My wife is thinking about homeschooling the kids or running a co-op or something. He sister is a teacher (who refuses to work because the admin won't let her fail the fuck ups) and they're planning some sort of home school thing.

Though I agree with everything you've stated, I've got to say - I went to private school for 12 years and I really don't feel my education was superior to my public school friends'. Other than the rare exception, they just can't pay private school teachers enough.
That said, I do think there's something to the increasing popularity of home schooling.
