First off, badass front squatting and deadlifting. I think you are spot on about the glute comment, you are almost hyperextending your back before they even fire through to lock out your hips. Maybe try some bridge hip extensions with your feet up on a pussy ball before hand. All in all it looked pretty good though.

And seriously, your hands hang down to only about your pockets. Once you start working on sumo, I think you are going to destroy the weight. Another thought, sumo will really help work on glutes and hips. I know you want to work on conventinal to get your back strength up, but judging by that perhaps back strength isn't your true weakness.

Thanks - I'll try the bridge hip extensions. I think my glutes are weak b/c my quads and hamstrings overpower my glutes. I need to fire the glutes as soon as the weight starts to go up so I can properly get my hips under the bar.

I also need to switch to sumo. My leverage on the conventional DL sucks.

The 365 FS was easy even after the DLs. The SSB works.

You should have taped the 365 front squat, because that is ridiculously awesome. Regarding leverages, I was reading through some Boris Sheiko stuff, and he mentioned a test you can use to determine sumo vs conventional is to stand facing a mirror. If your elbows are above your naval, you are probably built better for sumo, at or below, conventional deadlift. I thought that was a sensible observation, and it's at least true in my long armed ass case.

I was not thinking and did not video it. I'll video then next PR (I think after more SSB work, I should be able to hit 405).

The best part is I was working in with the football players. I doing more on the front squat then the O-lines were back squatting. It is DIII. Still, the sad part is I have a higher squat than anyone on the entire team.

Yeah, that doesn't sound right now that I think about it. I believe it was a certain distance above the naval used as a reference point. It's shittily translated. Regardless, my elbows hang down to about my naval.

Take this with a grain of salt 'cause I'm still pretty stupid, but ya don't have to choose between sumo and conventional DL.

I'm trying to think of them as two different lifts, sorta like back squat and front squat.

Normally, I would agree, but I'm trying to train for a May USAPL event. I'm concerned about raising my total and given that my ATG squat is higher than my DL, my DL is a bit of a concern.
