The measure of success for one's first attempt at Overhead Squats isn't "How much weight?" or "How many reps?" but "How many times did you drop the bar or fall on your ass?"

If your answer is "zero" then you did just fine.

My back is a work in progress, but it is getting better. Still, this injury has left me as weak as a hippie.

Back Squat (not quite ATG, about 2-3 inches bellow parallel).

45x5
135x5
185x5
225x5
275x5
315x3
315x3
315x3
315x3

Better than last week and my back held up.

Front Squat:
225x5
225x5
225x5

Chins
3xbw
3xbw
3xbw
2xbw
2xbw
2xbw

I slowly making progress at chins, but all things considered I still suck.

Overall, today’s workout was better than Wednesday’s hate crime against S&P and I am slowly recovering strength, which is good.

Off to the local MMA show - Genesis MMA. Hopefully, it is not a bunch of bums fighting over half eaten ham sandwiches.

Way to nail that 215lb PP!

There seems to be a few of us doing OHP and PP before DE Bench. My first day was yesterday, everything seemed fine.

How was the MMA Genesis show? The stuff I've heard about the first two has been generally positive (i.e. not bad for a small, local promotion).

OP: Thanks – Glad you passed on the food from the Crap House.

Stonebreaker:

It was pretty good and it was a good deal. There were 18 fights and I paid $27. There were not that many people there – so we moved down to the lower level. Miletich brought 6 or 7 fighters and BTT had two or three. The major problem with the show was that the fights were not evenly matched. Most ended in under a minute. I went with a couple of friends who are only casual MMA fans. They were able to pick the winners with about 90% accuracy just by watching the fighters walk into the cage. I guess the promoters are getting BTT and MFS some easy wins, while giving the crowed some wild slugfests. That said - I would go again.

My back is slowly getting better, but I have lost a lot of strength as the result of the injury. Hopefully, as my back heals, the strength will come back quickly.

DL:

135x1
225x1
315x4
365x0 (Fuck my fucked up back. Four weeks ago I was pulling 405 for multiple singles.)
340x1
340x1
340x1
340x1
340x1

BOR:
135x5
155x5
185x5
185x4 (err…)
185x5
135x15
135x12

I did not squat today. After Friday’s squats and today’s DL, I trying to lift as heavy as my back will allow while trying to be smart. My body was telling me I was done, and I don’t want to hurt my back again.
