Thanks Zero - Your advice (and Devils) helped a lot. I was not pushing hard with the hips, which caused me to use too much back (and my back strength is the suck).

Ill look into it after work. (if only to stop the whining )

Be prepared to be surprised with the sand bag. Mine is 120 lbs and it is fucking HEAVY. I cant believe that 120 lbs can be that tough to play with.

A couiple things:

1. make sure to double bag
2. Buy the most durable freezer bags they carry
3. Duct tape the seals on the freezer bags
4. Get a good canvas bag
5. Duct tape the top of the canvas bag

What can i say? i like to help, that and i hate you.

Do you find you get much out of the standing ab crunches and the lateral side bends? i've never found them very effective myself. Have you tried hanging pikes and full contact twists? those would be better IMO

... and nice work on the deads

Thanks - I'll try the pikes and twists. I bought Ross' book and will also use many of his ideas for core work.

Really, the main thing I noticed is that you dont seem to be gettng enough leg drive out of your pull. I try to imagine pushing my heels THROUGH the floor, and that eems to keep my weight centered where its supposed to be. Def. time for some heavy rack pulls to get the sticking point, but you're plenty strong enough, just focus on getting more out of your legs and think youll be fine.

You're gym is badass btw...

More out of his legs? Were we looking at the same clip? The failed 455 I saw got off the floor just fine, it was past his knees when it stalled out. That's a back sticking point, not legs, no?
